Oldest Barber Dime

Hit the fairgrounds for a couple hours yesterday. I've been working around the perimeter of an old horse arena. Found a few wheaties, another carnival ring, and a deep 7.5 Barber dime, which ended up being the oldest I've found, 1898.
The fairgrounds are fun, but the silver is starting to become a one hit wonder for each visit..LOL, I'll take it though as it better than none.

I've been trying to find where the old beer stand use to be that was run by the american legion during the 30-60's .... come monday I'll have to inquire to the staff where that use to be.. maybe that will lead to some more silver (let's hope)

Congrats on that Barber, really nice. Good to hear your parks are more like mine than Angels rofl.

I hope you can sniff a few more out of there!!

Very nice dime! lol at the beer stand, surely lots of tipsy folks fumbled around in their pockets for just one more right? Good luck finding it!

I recently used my knowledge from the old days- at a nearby summer camp I went to over 30 yrs ago. I remembered where the concession stand was, where we all sat for campsongs and back in the woods where we built forts. All I found was 70's clad though...

That's a nice old Barber dime, Scott. Don't give up on that site. There has to be more there.
