Only one keeper

Hi all,
Been going back through the areas around the farm I had already gone through, but now with the 17 inch coil in hopes of finding any small or extra deep items I may have missed.
I had gone back to try the front of the house once more because I figured there just had to be something there. I habet found a single good item yet, but it was difficult to get any good signals from under a huge pine tree with maybe 150 years worth of pine needles under it. But this time right near the base I got a sketchy 12-8 showing 10 inches deep. It took a lot of effort getting through the roots, but came up with a very thin pice which I can't exactly identify but is obviously victorian.

It's too thin to be a hair clip, but maybe from a dress? Its about 2.5 inches long and a half inch wide. Appreciate any input on it. Thanks!

Thanks Al, I had thought along those lines, just that it is solid with no pins, just a cross bar in the center.
Here's a pic cleaned and polished:

I'm with Todd , definitely the right age Chris . some sash buckles didn't hold any tension at all and were for just aesthetics to thread a piece of lace or silk about the waist or neck . its a nice find
