I spent about two hours at this site and made some interesting finds. The crusted "coin" was only discovered this weekend when I cleaned everything up and found out it was an 1864 IH drilled out to make a button. Not pictured, I also found about 20lbs worth of lead service line.
That's a pretty unique IH! I like the monogrammed cufflink too, very cool find. You're certainly a pro at finding and working those construction sites!
Never saw in Indian Head made into a button before! Man, that thing was really encrusted. Good job cleaning it, it's a miracle you were able to get a date off of it. It's an oldie too, 1864!
Congrats on the finds. I missed an opportunity in a town near me a few years back and every time I see you tear out posts I regret not hunting it. great finds WD
The Tear Out King!
Way to sniff out that Indian Head button! That's a first for me too, at least that I can recall, seeing a IHC turned into a button. Cool find!
Congrats
Nice snags on the old cufflink and IH. Am consistently amazed how you get to detect these sites. Here in N.E. you'd get laughed at, or run off if you ask to detect.
