rain-shortened hunt yields copper, silver

Got out for a few hours today before the rains came >:\ First rain we've seen around here in about a month. It was brutally hot, and the dirt brutally hard, but I scored a merc as the first target of the day happydance02 and also scored this abused copper. :thinkingabout:

About the size of a half cent (which is what I though it was when I pulled it). Think it is a 1724 Hiberna halfpenny based on what I can make of the seated figure and the way she is holding her arm, but it is really hard to tell. If so, I think it would be my oldest career copper (and for that matter, oldest coin I guess).

Also scored a pair of silver dimes yesterday. Thanks for looking and HH.

nice finds Randy , the copper is a Wood's Hibernia the date is where i high lighted they were 1722 ,23, or 24 only . the size if smaller than a modern quarter could make it a farthing or 1/4 penny. congrats on your oldest coin :perfect10: :clapping: :clapping:.
