at last i got the bloody thing working........sort of.......heres me stuff and if anyone can tell me what the thing is with the town cryer on is it would be helpfull....im thinking like a shoe buckle?

nice ring and good hunt,,the thing you think is a shoe buckel is realy a watch fob,is there any writing on the back? that would be very helpful in finding out who put it out and putting a date on it.

hey Lee the pictures are great :cheering: the gold item up on the top looks like a wax seal matrix for stamping wax to seal letters , what kind of stone is on that and is it carved in any way:huh: its a very cool find :clapping: :clapping: i would very much like to see the back of the town cryer item and is it silver plated or solid silver??

a watch fob...omg i see it now !!! and i cant see any marks on the back at all and its not a stone del,i think its another type of metal different from the rest.
ill take a pic of the back of the watch fob and up load it now dont know if its silver......god im hopeless aint i ? lol

i agree with JT it definately looks the right size for a watch fob , narrowing down the age will be challenging though. i hope you bring it to the next meeting as a few gents will be interested in it and the wax seal.
