Relics and an Odd Large Cent

Lodge Scent

Almost a repeat of last week. Scouted out a new site that didn't pan out then I hiked over to some stock pens that gave up a few goodies.

I think the lense on my cell phone cam was dirty. These stock pens had given up a nice finds in the past.

Managed a mouth harp, a few buttons, some sort of clip and a "reworked" Large Cent.

The copper turned out to be an 1838 Braided Hair. But looks like someone was feeling artistic and carved what looks like a flower stem with 8 or nine blossoms ??? You may not be able to see it in the pic but there are little stems going to each of the holes.

The reverse is similar.

Strangest Large Cent I've ever dug.

Alright Jeff , you get the Fugio bug ?? looks like you tried to make your own out of that coin  wow , i've never seen that much artwork on a large cent , i like it as it makes it a very personal and unique coin .:clapping: great little jaw harp too!

Trying to get into the Figio club? Maybe I can do that to my toasted largie. Nice find tho. You might need to clean the camera lens. I feel the iPhones' cam suck. My S4 works pretty great (and they are already up to the S6). The reason I mention it is because I can obvi tell it's a largie but cant see from the pic the date to tell it's a braided. The divots are just too prevalent and the Galaxies you can hold the pic button and it will zoom till it's focused completely.

WTG on the finds! Love the designed LC, better than just a plain old coin. Someone a longtime ago had a lot of free time on their hands, LOL!

Thanks folks!

I always have the Fugio bug Dan and would love to add to my current pile. Good idea trying to make them but I think making the obverse dies is beyond my skill ;)

Great finds Jeff! The LC is among my favorites posted here on the forum...just so unique and with a human connection. I feel similar about my Hard Times Token made into a child's whizzer, though your coin is in much better shape. By the way, I also love searching those old stock pens. Fewer targets than near the cellar hole, but they always seem to give up a few keepers. Congrats.
