Got out with Danny LaMontagne and Dave Wise yesterday for some Colonial Cellar Hole digging. It was a great day and we all made some great finds. I found my very first Revolutionary War era Sling Buckle! You never know when lightning will strike!:omg:25552255_10210688397589695_5056604136292957249_n.jpg25498189_10210688397949704_3560273734697968494_n.jpg

Thanks Danny! I agree that the site should have produced a bit more. My buckle was less than 50 feet from the cellar hole. That was a big target to miss and it rang up 60 on my MXT. We should go back again someday and see if the site doesn't start singing to us.

Nice find Donnie! Dying to go out and find something myself but right now the ground is so hard here it hurts to even walk on!

Looks like it may have been a British soldiers waist type buckle and not a shoulder slide type we had first thought Donnie http://www.historicalimagebank.com/...-+British+Soldiers+waistbelt+buckle+.jpg.html

The British Waist Buckle looks identical to me. I think we may need to investigate that site a little further. There may have been a British Tory living there at one time. Wouldn't it be something if one of us found a Long Live the King button or further evidence at that site?
