Rifle Pin

Can anyone shed any light on this pin? It is about 2 inches by 1 inch high. Found by my uncle today at an old school.

I think it is a WWI era Infantry pin. Does it look like there could have been a bar attached across the top or bottom? Most of the ones I have seen will have the unit number on a bar attached to the pin.
You can do a search for WWI Infantry pins to see what I am talking about.

I agree. It's an Army Infantry Officer's collar pin from WWI.
