I have been intending to get out to a friend's house northwest of Milwaukee all year, but the dry weather kept me away over the summer. Now that it is cool and the ground is moist, I checked in with him and got the green light. His house was built in the 1960's and his neighbor's is one of the older houses built in the 1940's. What intrigued me to this neighborhood is because a very large estate once stood on this area of about 160 acres from the 1890's to early 1940's. Although the ground has been moved around a lot with the construction of modern homes, there are some spots that have potential with very large old trees and around a couple older homes. I hunted in the back of my friend's yard and his neighbor's for about 5 hours (One of which was just talking to his neighbor who knows everyone and is like a local history book). Found some neat finds and an open invitation to come back anytime. It was a great sunny October day around 58 degrees.
