Searched a house that was built in 1923. I had visions of finding some good treasures. Spent 2 hours swinging and came up with this cap for tea. Tried to research it, but came up blank.

Also found a 1939 Jefferson nickel and a 1947 D Wheatie.

Strange I never found any silver. I did find 3 newer dimes, and 9 LMC.

Maybe I will go back and search more, still looking for my first silver.

thoes are metal tags for rose bushes and were used back in the 50's and 60's,they are made of pasteboard now,the tea was a type of rose, hope this is helpful.

Thanks JTGold, that would explain the hole in it and the wire I removed. I guess my modern brain equated it to an ice tea bottle lid. Thinking about it now, makes alot more sense being a rose tag than a bottle cap to ice tea.

crying01! Sorry you didn't find any silver! My house is 100 years old. I have not found 1 silver anything. Just goes to show you. Just because it's an old house. Doesn't mean everybody was running around throwing silver coins all over the place. Don't give up. The silver will come! :peace:

Same with my house, over 100 years old and no silver. Keep searching with this in mind, LOW & SLOW. Works for me.

Its there. Keep looking. If you don't find it now, go back in about a month and try again. You will be suprised what you missed. Done it many times.
