Last night I visited an old town and met up with a new guy to the hobby to do some door knocking. He is very interested in getting a deus so when ever we meet up I let him use mine so that he can get familiar with it before he gets one of his own.

My day was already great because I found a 1941 merc during my lunch break at a near by park. Then while I was waiting for my hunting partner to meet me I found a 1921 British Six Pence. I think they are 50% silver. Once he arrived I told him I was going to knock on a couple homes to see if we could get on some "virgin" ground. The first house gave us a yes so I told my partner to go ahead and start swinging and I would go next door and see if I could another permission right away. I talked to the owner of home #2 and at first he said it would not be worth it because he had gone over the place with his detector. I kindly asked him that we would love to go over it again and he said sure have at it. So I started at home #2 while my partner hit the first home.

Two minutes into the hunt and I get a solid penny signal and out came a wheatie. I thought "Cool this yard has some targets left". 3 feet away was another penny signal but the sound was a bit higher in tone...out comes a silver dime! I saw the edge first and when I picked it up there was Lady Liberty sitting! Checked the back and saw the CC....I was thrilled as I calmly walked over to my buddy to show him. He couldn't believe it.

I then went back and the NEXT hole was a sterling silver pocket knife!

Ended up with a nice 1919 Buff and a 1942 P War Nik. My buddy found his first Indian 1902 so he was thrilled. The home owner came out with his detector and found a few wheat pennies. So it was a fun night for all!

The Token was found by my youngest boy last week.

Thanks for looking. Jared

Whoa! What a night!
Mercs and War nics are always a welcome addition to the collection! But the CC seated dime and silver six pence are the show stoppers!
I love the Sterling freebie knife!
I challenge ya to find a insurance company giving away Sterling silver knifes nowadays! [emoji28]
Congrats on the keepers! [emoji16]
And congrats to your buddy on his first IH!

All I can say is :wow:

I don't know which is my favorite, the Carson City seated dime or the sterling pocket knife! They are both spectacular finds! A coin minted in CC is still on my bucket list.

I really like the Six Pence coin too! Very unusual find. That was an awesome hunt!

Loving that 1876 CC dime....fantastic find. Also that sterling knife is really a great find, don't see them posted very often. Very nice of you to let your friend use the Deus and huge congrats to him on his 1st IH.

Awesome hunts ! Just curious , what metal detector was the homeowner using ?

He has a Whites MXT. He got it about 4 years ago but has only hunted his yard. He admitted that he does not know his machine very well. But that was good news for us!

Great set of finds! Don't think I've ever seen a sterling pocket knife before. I would be happy with any of those keeper coins too. Congrats!

:wow:, what a great bunch of finds. I love it when they tell me it's been hunted and I won't find anything. I almost always find someting!
I've never seen a sterling pocket knife, Awesome find! And pulling a seated always makes for a good day.:congrats:

Most excellent saves fellas! A CC coin is still on my list to find, and man, you can't hope to find a dug IH in much nicer condition. Congrats.
