shield coin spill

Got a very dicey CO 40-42 on the E-Trac at about 8 inches, but the first target I pulled out of the hole was a pink nickel I couldn't identify . Scanned the hole and the high target was still down there, which I figured was a wheatie, but I pulled out a larger copper. Cleaned them off with my water bottle, and it was a shield nickel and 2 cent piece in the same hole :happydance01: I'll work on the 2 center tomorrow -- it looks to have a good bit of detail under the dirt. The nickel looks like 1866 or 1868, but is pretty abused.

Also had a very bizarre clad trifecta, pulling three different types of clad dollar coins, with an extra sac kicker.

Wow a very different assortment of great finds . Actually that Shield isn't in that bad a shape (looks like 1868 to me ) and that's a nice two cent piece . thumbsup01 thumbsup01

Excellent finds! That 2-cent piece looks like it will clean up very nicely. :smitten: And sweet old nickel too.

:shocked04:

What a coin spill!! :peace: Two coins I haven't even put on my wish list yet... out of the same hole. I'll bet that was exciting.

Nice score on the dollar coins too.

Congrats Randy... you had a super hunt.

What a bizarre combination  What are the odds of finding 3 different dollar coins. That is so cool. :clapping: I bet that never happens again. The spill is only 7 cents back then, but a lot more exciting today lol Great hunt !!

that is very strange Randy to dig a hole with just different shield coins in it and to dig another one with just different dollar coins all in it  crazy odds lol lol very cool finds though .

Yeah, but that was when 7 cents was a decent amount of change that you could actually buy something with.... you can't even buy penny candy with that now

Nice finds!
