Short Field & House Hunt

I was able to get out on Tuesday for a short hunt, it was cool and very cloudy but I am trying to get it as many field hunts before the planting starts. First I went back to the field that has given me a couple of Large Cents and some Indians including the excellent 1872 Indian. My first good find was another Indian Head this time an 1889 in reasonable shape. I then found a large button that turns out to be a Sporting button with a duck in flight on it.









I posted this on the Stealth Diggers FaceBook page and Mike Lichtenstein did this artistic enhancement.



Found some other buttons and buckles and stuff as well.



I then got a permission on a small abandoned house with an adjoining one room schoolhouse, I only had about half an hour left to hunt it, I got a 1939 Wheat and an interesting 1916 French 10 Centimes coin.





Definitely planning on going back when I can spend more time picking through all the iron and trash to see if more can be found.

Great assortment of finds! Nice hit on the centimes. I would have been scratching my head on that one. Love the sporting button. Thanks for the artistic enhancement. I would have guessed it was a rail, but with your lines I can definitely see it is a duck.

Yes I can see the duck with the enhancements. Congrats on another IH, still looking for my 1st one of the year.

Hard to believe but I found one of those 10 centimes too...around the same year. Yours is in much better shape if I recall correctly. Handsome coin...and large. Keep it up!
