slow day...but found a rare (?) bar token and a cool relic

It's been a beautiful day to TH so i went back to one of my favorite spots. Spent about 5 hours hunting but when it came to coins I found only 3 wheats ('11, '19, and '35). :eyebrow:
But I did find a neat old bar token...Wilburs Tavern, Southeast Corner Square, Pawnee Illinois. It's not listed in the Trade Tokens of Illinois book...and if it's not there, i say it's rare  Too bad the back of it is corroded.
Also found a neat old iron that is smaller than any i've ever seen. Didn't know they made them that small
(3 1/2 long). I wonder if it was actually used for ironing??..or maybe just a kid's play iron:huh:

My meager catch for the day....

3 wheats and a very cool token, plus you got 5hrs of detecting in. Congrats

thanks!

I've spent many weekends at that site, have found lots of silver coins, a pile of IH pennies, some LCs, a sterling thimble, and numerous other relics...but 3 wheats in 5 hours means it's time to move on to greener pastures lol

Those old trade tokens are some of my favorite things to find!  thumbsup01
Thats a cool one! I checked Richards Token Database and didn't find it there either :dontknow: thumbsup01
Nice one!
Congrats!

Nice token, I just love the old trade tokens! The small iron is most likely a detail iron, used to iron cuffs, lapels and such.

Nice finds! For the token, I found the best way to clean them up is use an SOS pad (the kind with the soap already in them). It takes the corrosion off really well and shines up the raised letters, making them easier to read.
