Thanks for asking Del, I found out some interesting family history now because of this metal. It probably came from Ellen s Runden possibly being a women's member of the Sons of Temperance as she was living in the house at that time, or could have been her husband Magnus, cool name. One metal like it on the internet dated 1892. Her father was Rev. Elling Eielsen who was the first ordained Luthern minister of the gospel among the Norwegians in the United States. He passed in 1883 and more than likely was the one who picked up that 1786 2 reale that I found on the farm in his travels preaching. So being a preachers daughter she probably followed a straight and narrow path.:angelic: There's a small article on the web of the Rev. Eielsen that's very interesting about his travels. And i used to hate history:duh:

The original Temperance movement gained much popularity around the 1820's , I was very fortunate to find a button from that time frame
