IMG_1413.jpgIMG_1418.jpgIMG_1420.jpgIMG_1425.jpgAbout 6 years ago they tore down a 1910 house about a mile away from me. I detected it then and only found a silver Rosie and a bunch of wheats. They turned half the lot into a parking area for the adjacent business and the other half was untouched. So I decided to return and see what I missed. I guess the date is Aug 21, 1917. The oldest wheat is 1939 and I liked the patina on the Canadian penny so I included it in the photo. Also found a 1965 rabies tag, an old lipstick case and a key. Last photo is after I cleaned up the buckle with a baking soda paste.

Awesome find! Its unusual to be able to get any idea of dates on silver like that, but I've never seen a mfg date. Congrats!

Whoa! Nice find Mike! :thumbsup02:
I bet that sounded like a garbage can lid when you went over it! :shocked04::lol:
Congrats!

Great find Mike! I think a sterling buckle is on EVERYONE'S bucket list. At first I thought it was one of those Hickok buckles but they usually have the name stamped very obviously. Have you weighed it yet? How many grams of 925 you got there? Best wishes and HH, Dave.
