Street Tear Out Yields Two Firsts - LC & Seated

I have been roaming around this street tear out project for the better part of a month now and finally found the first coins when they spread out some excavated dirt. These two coins and the baggage tag were found the last week of July before I left town for vacation. Can't wait to get back to this site this week and see what dirt they pushed around. The Large Cent is my first and oldest coin to date and I can barely make out the 1856 date. The Seated Quarter is my first seated coin and is an 1876S. This is my oldest silver coin.

Too bad that soil can be toxic on coins. But you can make out each of them well. Congrats on your 2 firsts and your oldest coin. I still have yet to find a Seated Quarter :ticked: Take advantage of that situation, because when that project is finally finished, what hasn't been found, may never be.

Sweet old coins! It's great when you can take advantage of such scrapes. You never know what will be dug up, which makes it fun to work those types of areas. Congrats on your two first! thumbsup01
