Sunday field finds

October 18, 2015 – Like most of the northeast I woke up to a heavy frost and decided to delay my morning start. I was going out alone so I decided to hit a field close by. This field has produced many buttons and a few coppers over the years. I hadn’t been there since last year and was hoping that being turned over in the spring it would give up a few goodies. I managed a few buttons, a couple of ornate pieces (most likely parts of utensils), a shoe toe tap and a bent & broken buckle frame. Over the years we’ve pounded this field hard with good detectors and good detectorists and it amazes me that finds are still made.

The frost came a bit early I think Brian , congrats on the buttons and that looks like a large sized shoe buckle frame !

One of the fields I pounded over the last five years was turned over this past spring and has new life! Those are some high targets...I hope it's a large field for you. Nice going!

Congrats on picking up those finds even after being a heavily pounded field. Just here waiting for the beans to get harvested so I can have another 45 acres of virgin fields!
