That is a fantastic day! What kind of a spot did you find these in?

Thanks , It's an old Baseball field next to an elementary School which is being scraped , replanted and having a new sprinkler system installed .I attended that school for a short time back in the 50's ( yes , I am a bit of a relic ) .

Perhaps you dropped some of those?

Not a chance ! I didn't have much money back then and I was very careful with it . My wife grew up a block away from there and she came from a large family that also included many cousins who all lived nearby and they all played there . Maybe some of their coinage ended up in my pouch . I lived a couple of miles from there and didn't frequent that park too much . My buddies and I were more into riding all over the place on our bicycles I literally lived on the other side of the tracks . My Brother in law still lives in their original house .

Great hunt, congrats on all the recoveries. Was it the Nox or the dirt getting scraped down?/. WD

Thank you WD .

Honest answer ….I don't really know for sure. I don't think any of those targets were beyond the reach of any halfway decent detector or detectorist .I do hunt in heavily mineralized ground and some of these targets were around large and small pieces of iron .

I'd like to think the nice piece of change I put out for this detector got me a far superior detector than I've had before .

All these targets I got on this hunt were in the 2" to 5" range .

I went back to the same spot today but this time I used the 6" coil . I went over the same dirt I went over previously , twice . This time I didn't find one silver coin at all just a few more wheats , memorials , a couple of nickels (one being a Buffalo ) an unidentifiable coin and junk . I'm guessing I cleaned it out as good as my abilities are able to .

I'm not going to say that there isn't anybody out there that can't go over it with a low cost detector and give me a spanking . I'm just going to say I like the way this detector performs and I was fortunate to be at the right place at the right time .
I also know this spot has been heavily hunted for many years , so I am quite happy to have found what I have here . Hopefully , before this spot is all sealed up again , I can find a coin that is on my bucket list .
Happy hunting .

Thanks Timmy , Yes I finally went and did it ! I got a great deal on a used one with all kinds of extras . As for opening up my old hunted out sights ,here are 2 items I got from one that I'm lucky to find anything from any more . A nice old token and a silver Rosie . I also got a half a dozen or so clad coins .
I could really go for finding a bucketlister ( Lord knows I've got a wide variety to choose from ).
