Third hunt with Equinox 800 / adjusted settings.

2 hour hunt on an old farm field in New Jersey today. This was the third outing with the Equinox 800. On my first two hunts I used Field 1 with factory defaults on multi-frequency. On those two hunts the Equinox seemed a little chatty. Today I created my own settings using Field 2 as the starting point and then set sensitivity to 24, frequency to 5 kHz and recovery speed to 5. I’m looking for more depth with these settings and I'll lower recovery speed to 3 or 4 on the next hunt. I did find two buttons 10-12 inches and the chatter was a lot less. The gold button looks like it has stars around the outside, I’ll try and see if I can pull better detail. The lead “button” looks like it says U S.

There is much room for creative adjustments with the Equinox. Is there tons of minerazation at that field? Good job, that's a lot of buttons!

I can't want until someone finds the best settings for high conductors in mineralzed/fertilized fields. That's great that you can run sens at 24...this afternoon I was running the sens at 20 to help quite down the falsings. I tried all the modes. Tomorrow I'm going to bring a bunch of coins and bury them in this bad soil and experiment more.
At the park it performed wonderfully!
PS did you kinow you have to noise cancel for evey mode you switch to? Jeepers, I wasn't aware of that, just learned it.

Some nice finds and I am pretty sure that when you get to mastering this machine, the rest of us will be left in the dust...
