todays hunt with big john

went to sterling ill today to hunt with my good freind big john he had gotten permission to hunt a house and invited me to come with had a great time as always me and john hunted together back in the seventies and it was nice to get back to hunt again with him todays finds were 2 silver quarters 5 wheaties a indian head a cool token and some misc items thanks for looking dennis

Dennis, You found some great coins and a very interesting token. I hope someone can identify it. The icing on the cake was at the end of the hunt when you surprised me with that 1900 Indian cent. Maybe if I slow down and I will get finds like you. BigJohn
 
Been to Sterling once last year to visit friends(they have since moved) but i didnt have a chance to detect there.Nice small town....Congrats on your finds....
 
Our Lincoln one cent coins here in the USA had stalks of wheat on the reverse from 1909-1958.

As a general rule, most detectorists prefer to find wheaties over newer cents because they are a little older and are often a good indicator that silver coins may also be found in the same area.
