Tony Two-Cent's 2016 Year-In-Review

The year 2016 was kind of an "off" year for me, metal detecting-wise. I didn't get out much and this really shows in my silver totals. However, sometimes quality is better than quantity and I was able to make some decent finds in my infrequent outings. I even found a bucket list item, my first "fatty" Indian Head Cent.

It was really strange that I found 1 Seated Quarter, 2 Barber Quarters and 3 SLQs but only one silver Washington quarter. Not that I'm complaining!

Here are some of my more interesting coin finds:

And here are some of the relics and jewelry items:

I am looking forward to 2017. I should be able to get out more this year. The tough part is finding sites to hunt. Since I moved here in October of 2015 I am slowly becoming more familiar with the area and its history. My brother has several promising sites lined up for the spring, and I hope to take a road trip or two as well.

Thanks for looking and happy hunting! :beerbuddy:

For an "off" year...not to shabby. A seated quarter, which is still on my wish list, Barber's and 3 SLQ's...:thumbsup02:

If one of your road trips will be out this way I hope we can meet up.

Looks like you did A-Okay Tony! You always make such good finds and usually where others have previously trod with their detectors. I learned a lot from you over the last few years. Have a great 2017 and I hope we can get together at least once for a hunt. Best wishes and HH, Dave.

That's definitely a nice bunch of quality coins. Not even one Rosie!!
I hope a couple of the road trips point you up north a bit.
Best of luck in 2017. Spring will be here before we know it.

The quality of your finds are amazing! No junk silver there! I hope you get out more...I miss your videos!

I would take an "off year" like that any time Tony , great finds sir !! :clapping:

I was hoping to see you to this march when the "Midwest invasion detecting team" comes out to hunt some colonial sites with us !

Not too shabby if you ask me brother! :thumbsup01:
For the limited time you did have in the field it looks like you made the most of it!
You even managed to snag a item off of my bucket list :envious: (Seated quarter)
I feel your pain in not getting out to detect as much as we may have liked this past year.
Congrats on the keepers Tony!
A heres to a more fruitful 2017 :beerbuddy:

I'd say you did pretty well! Congrats on some good finds and knocking one off of your bucket list!

Congratulations on some super finds! Your brother never wanted to try swinging himself? I know he has found some nice sites in the past. Good luck in your new territory!
