Tuesday evening hunt

I wasn't planning on going out this evening, but watching Ill Digger's latest video got me in the mood to find some silver.
Right about 5:00 I headed out for a very nice two hour hunt. The area is obviously very saturated with wheats but there were some other goodies hiding with them.

This was a nice surprise. It's a bit bigger than a half dollar. Definitely a nice one for my collection.

No messing around tonight... I was gonna find me some silver. lol
I decided to hit a different section of the site tonight. I quickly started finding pockets of wheats and a few silvers mixed in. I got to thinking, between signals, and realized that the area I was finding coins was once a beach front view. Back in the late 60's the city had put in a flood wall and diverted the river that was creating the lake along the front of this site. Now the lake area is an industrial park but before that it was high ground over looking the lake. I'll be focusing on the same area for my next hunt.
Yes, both IH's are 1896.

Very good hunt Joe! There are plenty of nice looking wheat cents in that pile, and the Indian Head cents look sharp. Sweet silver too. thumbsup01
