Took my F5 to a totlot and got a good amount of clad and a gold colored ring. Unmarked on the inside---nothing at all........
I had tested all the gold plated rings( 30 of them) I had dug, and the lowest they tested on my F5 was at VDI 31. The smallest I had----A 14 K plated size 8 read at 31 ----higher than a nickel !!!!!!!!
The ring dug up this morning was reading 28. From another F5 hunter here he has dug a few gold rings at 27 and 28 vdi.
The ring has NO markings anywhere.. no stamp no engraving --nothing ---------but read 28.
