Hi all. Went out yesterday evening to the old closed down Military School that I've been hunting all summer, but now since we are finally getting the rain, I'm finding more finds in the same area I had already searched, but they are coming up deeper.

Found a few ate up pennies, a couple of nickels, and a 1957 wheatie. But we also dug up a Wax Seal Stamp and I think, a Letter Opener.

This is the Vintage Brass Wax Seal Stamp. Looked it up on the computer and it was called; DE LIS Crown with the LYS French Flower Lily Iris on the bottom.

The bottom of the stamp.

I think this is a letter opener, but is made of iron instead of brass. Some one told me it could even be a dagger or spear

Good hunting everyone, ;) Eric

cool finds Buck , whats the design on the bottom of the wax seal matrix look like ?? love the dagger blade , it looks very lethal.

Hey thanks all. :waving: They were some cool finds.
Del, The design on the bottom, I think is the French Flower Lily Iris. Looking on the internet last night, there were several of these Stamps, that had either letters on the bottom or the flower. from what I can make out it was the flower. I'll post a pic of the bottom tonight.

Hey thanks al; The dagger is looking more like a bayonet. Ole del said it could be one, and since I'm out there at the old Military School, that makes sense. I have a guy coming this Thursday that worked out at the school for years, and I'll have him look at it.

cool wax seal.i never dug one of those yet.Dan is it possible that the iron bald is some sort of spontoon pike? I know it's different lookin than most but is it possible?
