Watch Fob

Hi all, had a chance to detect for an hour this morning before going in to work. Found some clad and a Watch Fob. I didn't know what it was at first until asking some folks, and it is an ornament or a medallion that is attached to a pocket watch by a leather strap or a chain, back in the days. This one was made by a company called Sharples, who made Cream Seperators. Pretty unussual find that I thought I would share with you all. Good hunting everyone. thumbsup01 Eric

cool relic of the past |:cheering: |:cheering: yes watch fobs such as that were hugely popular in the late 1800's to early 1950s when the traditional pocket watches had them on chains for a time then when they were going out of style the newer smaller type were attached to a leather strap and fancy decorated metal fobs were the rage.

I've seen lots of watch fobs found and posted on the forums over the year and I just recently found my first one as well ! thumbsup01
So I know how your feeling about finding one. But I gotta say yours is much, much more interesting! :yes: :envious:
I like the picture of the Cream Separator , plus all the info on the reverse side as well! :yes:

Congrats on the watch fob. They are great to find cause they usually have dates and information on them.

Thanks there Rob. No date on this one, but it does have a pic of the creamer which was built in 1910, and the company's name which is pretty cool. :shocked04:. Good hunting to ya Rob thumbsup01. Eric
