We Did It All

Rob and I hit some fields, some parks and just for good measure we even stopped at a cellar hole.

The first place we hit was a field that I took Rob to when we first met. It had produced very well in the past but this time I only managed a wheat (1936) and a flat button. Next we hit a cellar hole I saw from the road but that didn't pan out to well.

We were very close to a corn field that I had gotten permission from years ago. We headed over there and I located the old farmer out in the barn and he gave us the go ahead again. Not much there except I did get a religious medallion and a musketball. Time to move on.

We went to Dunkin donuts and Rob treated, thanks Rob.

I suggested we go to a park in which Rob had gotten a LC before. Nothing but clad for the both of us, very, very trashy park.

Sitting in the car we were discussing how we could not let just a wheat and a flat button be the finds of the day. We were right down the street from a park that is under construction so off we went.

We arrived and saw that some dirt had been spread around from the big piles. I went right, Rob went left. My 1st coin was another wheat (1941) then a bunch of memorials. Next I got another flat button. Rob had worked his way over to where I was and very soon he said look at this. He brought over a clump of dirt and we could see the silver rim. Rob was kind enough to break it open in front of me and he got himself a nice merc. Not 10 minutes later I was able to call Rob over to see what silver I had in a clump. It's very unusal for us to have any silvers in clumps so I carefully start to break the dirt away and we see One Dime. Now Rob has gotten seated out of this spot before so I was a praying. Flipped it over and we see Miss Barber, a 1914, full LIBERTY.

So that ends our field, park and cellar hole hunt. Thanks for reading and HH

Congrats on the Barber Dime, Al! |:cheering:

I haven't found one in so long I've forgotten what it's like.

Don't eat too many doughnuts or you'll get fat like me. lol

Great digs! I wish they would do some work like that in the parks around here. As you have proved you never know what will turn up when they start moving dirt around!
