Weekend of Detecting with DaddyDigger yields some old coins and relics.

DaddyDigger (Dave) spent the weekend here in my hometown and we detected many sites in this area.

Yesterday we hit several old parks and I found a 1907 Indian Head, a really nice 1923 Mercury Dime and a 1957 Rosie.

Today we hunted a couple more parks, but we had our best success in the yard of an old house that was across the street from one of the parks. Nobody was living in the house, but the owner lived next door and gave us permission to hunt it. In this yard I found a few wheat cents, a 1934 Buffalo Nickel, and 2 Barber Dimes. About 8 inches from one of the Barber Dimes I found an 1844 Canada Half Penny Bank Token. That was a first for me. I also found a ring that had my hopes up at first, but it is just plated. Dave found some goodies as well.

Here are the finds from this weekend:

Here are the keepers:

I know I have seen these on the forum before, I think you guys up in the northeast find them occasionally.

This ring rang up high on the E-Trac so at first I thought it might be gold plating over silver, but I think it's just plated over copper.

Some of the relics. I think the dog tag is from 1954. The old pocket watch was almost a foot deep.

Lots of junk, as always:

Thanks to Dave for being a great detecting partner and for buying pizza last night!

Thank for looking and happy hunting! :beerbuddy:

Great job Tony. It sounds like you had another great weekend of hunting. That 1844 Canadian Half Penny is really cool.
Congrats on all your finds.
Did you guys get slammed with any storms yesterday? It got messy up here.

Nicely done Tony! I must say that the soil up there is very kind to them older cents. My Indians cleaned up really well (much better than when I find them down here). Once again it was a real pleasure to MD with you and I look forward to our next outing. Best wishes and HH, Dave.

We were not afraid of them storms! We very bravely got into the car and drove back home when the squall line hit us!

Boy that Mercury is gorgeous. :loveit: Some really good finds there Tony. We do get them Canadian tokens every once in a while. They are a nice change from toasted coppers

Excellent finds guys! That Bank Token is the most interesting of the bunch IMO! Sounds like you had a fun weekend! :thumbsup02:

WTG on that merc, absolutely beautiful. Your bank token is great and I would love to see one in a hole that I dig.

Nice collections of keepers and looking forward to your next hunt.
