Weird day - nabbed my first 2 cent piece

What a weird and wild day. Dug almost all day with my buddy Rob. I locked my keys in the Jeep in the middle of a farm field, the permission owners were awesome. They made me coffee and gave me peanut butter tastycakes while I waited for roadside assistance. He said it was the first time he had to walk into a farm field to unlock a car lol. I dug my first 2 cent price (1865) at my colonial home permission later in the day along with a really nice thimble, button and a Buffalo nickel. I think the large copper is a KG, but having a rough time figuring out which one.

Anyone have any thoughts on this one? Head, hair and bust seem to say KG to me.

Congrats on the 2 center! That has always been a fear of mine to lock my keys in the car and then having to call my wife to come and help me out.

Nice hunt Ken. Any hunt where you are served peanut butter tasty cakes is a good hunt ;) That two-center should clean up well. The copper does look like a KG.

Congrats on your first 2 Cent Piece and the tastycakes! :thumbsup01:

We would love to see the thimble, button and Buffalo Nickel too. The 2 Cent Piece cleaned up well. Nice detail on it still.

:congrats:

Man that must bummed you out with the keys, musta been some choice words that would make a sailor blush, lol! The 2 Center cleaned up nice. WTG on the KG as well.

Great 2-center Ken :cheering:congrats on your first sir ! the coper looks to have an unusual lower bust profile unless that's just dirt and lighting playing with it .

Thanks all!

Tony, here's the thimble and button. The button is big and the shank was in good shape. It was also the first thimble I ever found not crushed.

Thanks! I've been waiting to dig one of those. Yes, the bust was odd to me too. I found some CT copper variations that had a bust that kind of looked like that, but it was too iffy. I tried to clean it some and lost detail :( so it goes in the "no clue" box. However, I did clean some other "no clue" coins from early this year at the same time and found a NJ copper in the bunch so not a total loss lol.
