PS: I like your signature line.

Not sure if you're referring to my silence or that of Kellyco. However, methinks the latter won't be contributing to this thread.

Is throughly a real word? :thinkingabout: I need to think that throughly. My iPad doesn't think so, as it autocorrected to thoroughly. But I'll probably think it over during my sleep too. :goodnight: :sleepy:

Of course they bought the domain legally. Anyone can buy any domain that's for sale. The issue is what they did with it. The issue is that they attempted to create confusion in the eyes of the public by redirecting that domain to their site. That has been prosecuted successfully in the US. It's called passing off. This link describes it succinctly

I was hoping there would be a response from a Kellyco rep.

Well you know the saying silence often says more than words...

Can be empowering but...

I seriously doubt it. So glad this was discussed on here and other forums. A real low blow...

No, it's a typo. Have a few sticky keys on the keyboard.

It actually IS a real word, according to the dictionary... with the meaning you intended. :)

I don't like dealing with them period .....

I'm making a great effort these days to only deal with nice people. I'm tired of dealing with bad people just to get a product. I can do without, or I can wait until I find a nice company to deal with.

Yes, but it is archaic middle english. I refrain from using those words in public forums. I may be old, but I don't want folks to think I am archaic.

That would make you anywhere from 4,000 to 10,000 years old :thinkingabout: Just a bit older than Dan and I ;)

We just had a representitive from Kellyco join the forum (Emily) and I'm curious
if she'll have anything official to add here .

She also recently joined that other forum I hang out at and was asked this same question without a response yet.

hey Ron , its not illegal but very suspicious , sneaky and underhanded in my opinion and then to not even come forward and try to explain themselves is amoral . I cannot in good faith support a company that conducts themselves in such a manner. Ron she may have alternative motives for joining in the first place.

I agree it's unethical but it's also illegal. I checked with an attorney friend.

Harvesting emails from forums in order to spam people is also unethical. However I tend to think these things end up causing the culprit more harm than good in the long run. What goes around, comes around.

Lee should chime in here ,but a few weeks ago I received a call from Lee's wife asking if I could help her with picking out a new coil for Lee's F4 for his birthday.

I know Lee could use a small shooter coil so I looked on Kellyco and they only listed one shooter for his F2.

When Lee gets the new coil on his birthday he notices that the coil has a male plug in but the F2 has a male adapter.

Lee calls Kellyco and the agent tells him that they are aware that that coil doesn't fit the F4 and that she has brought it to their attention several times in the past.

Then they tell him to ship it back to them and they would credit him.

First off why in hell should Lee have to pay the return shipping when it is certainly their fault shipping the wrong item and why in the world would they keep it listed on their website as for an F 4 when they know it won't work.

I told Lee to call them back and make a fuss , but I don't think Lee has it in him to do so.
If need be ill do it, I love giving idiots hell for being stupid.

Seems like a shady outfit to me. Thankfully I learned this out now. I am a few weeks away from ordering a new coil for my V3i. Ill shop elsewhere even if it cost me a few extra bucks to do so.

Chris - it won't cost you extra. Call Bart and see if Kellyco will come near his price. They won't. That's why they are going through all these underhanded maneuvers.

I'm not saying this because Big Boys Hobbies is a sponsor. It's the opposite - he is a sponsor because I can say that and mean it.

It appears that the staff here were victims of email harvesting by this Kellyco rep. And our emails are not displayed, so some program was employed to get at them. Ron, you are staff at that other forum and that's probably what happened there too.
