Winter Hunts

Hey everyone, We were able to hunt through the winter about 10 yrs ago and on pace to do it again! Pictured are my last several hunts. I can't seem to buy a datable copper. Of the 3 KG2s that's the most presentable.
This is my 1st spur...anyone know how to date them? This one has some leather still on it. The close up shows the lines on the side of it.
Thanks!

Great finds! Yeah it’s been warm enough here to do some detecting. Even though they are dateless those coppers are awesome!

We are having an unusually warm winter here also. It is 62 degrees as I type this.

You have some impressive finds there, Drew! That spur is incredible! I hope some of our resident experts can weigh in on its age. All I can offer is, "It looks old!" :thumbsup01:

Great finds, especially for this time of year!

I also got out today for nearly an hour before work to check out the brewery site I mentioned in my previous post. As I write this it's 42 degrees with howling winds, but the ground is thawed so can't complain. No, didn't find anything period but a big chunk of copper flashing. But did find 2 lincolns, a brass rivet head and a .40 cal bullet. Yep, bad part of town so the lot is loaded with liquor bottle screw caps ringing up like coins.
