Yes, been hunting with the Captain (From Friendly Forum) and he has taught me well, and all the training has paid off! lol
Anyway, I got back from a weekend trip to Maryland earlier today and I was itching to get out swinging. I had a few hours to beep and I must say, I had a bunch of firsts today.
First sweet finds were in one hole, a 1942 Walker, and 1956 Rosie, and a 1950 wheat penny!
mg: The Walker was my first silver half ever! I was way off in pinpointing it and I almost took a chunk out of it with my shovel! 8/
Then along the side of a trail, I hit a beautiful signal on the T2. It stayed a solid 90-91. I thought I would dig a clad quarter...maybe a silver Washington, but out popped an 1895-O Barber quarter. I almost fell over! <:
There is where I beat my high of two silvers in one hunt, but more was to come. Along the same trail I hit a nice dime signal and 4 inches down I uncovered a 1926 Mercury dime. I was ecstatic at this point. :drool:
Then lastly I hit a solid 89 on the T2. I wasn't sure what it could be but dug anyway. About 6 inches down I see a big silver rim. Then I uncovered another Walker!!!mg: I just couldn't believe it. Two Walkers in one hunt and 5 altogether, my personal best.
This Walker was all bent up too. I figure a bullet hit it in some sort of target practice. Too bad, because condition wise you can see every little detail on it. But it looks cool all bent up like that.
Other than these, I found three more wheats, a 1966 Canadian penny, and .88 cents in regular change.
So, sorry for the long winded story but I'm still on Cloud 9 with this hunt, probably not soon repeated! Thanks for looking and happy hunting all! :groovy:
