After A Long Winters Nap - Copper!

Well it's been a LONG, COLD & DREADFUL WINTER!

Sure felt good to be digging in the dirt again.

Was back at an old site of mine that I can only get to in the fall, winter or very early spring due to all the prickers. Last time I was here I brought my loppers with me to cut some of them down.

Well today I was rewarded with a small button, tough to read but looks like it might say Endicott and an 1817 Cornet LC.

Come on Spring!
Roger

Large cents coming out of the ground usually aren't worth much, but I love to find them. Nice find to start out the year.

very nice outing Roger :congrats: I suspect the button says "Benedict" as in Benedict & Burnham or A.Benedict or Benedict & Coe or Benedict and Burnham.

Nice to get out again isn't it Roger? Gongratz on getting out and adding a copper to your collection:clapping:

Thanks guys! Yea It was warm enough that all I had to wear was just a long sleeve shirt.

Was about 53 :thumbsup01: and today......32 :ticked:

Always nice to get that first Copper of the year, nice button...Benedict and Burnham were a forerunner of Waterbury.

Actually it's my 2nd LC of the year but that was way back in Jan before the Arctic blast froze us solid for the last month and a half.

Thanks for the info about Benedict :thumbsup01:

After this winter, digging in 53 degree weather with just a long sleeve shirt must have been heaven. :congrats:on your LC.
