Here are some pics of my recent finds over the last few weeks, highlighted by my first silver 3 cent piece that I found today! Found it in a NH field on a group hunt. It's an 1853. I cannot believe how small they are...I thought it was a cuff button and looked more closely and my jaw dropped. It did not ring up as silver...more like a penny (that year is only 75% silver and 25% copper). The compact is a 1930's Art Deco Hawaiian Hula Girl "Tattoo" make up compact...I thought that was pretty cool. The silver pin is the official seal of the town of Salem, MA. It was deep and old....I thought it was a Real when I first dug it!

Nice find. Still looking for one of those, however I do know they are small. That Salem button is intriguing. Any research on it yet?
 
Congrats on the 3 center! Nice set of finds you have there, including the petal bell. Those always rank high on my list.

Well the pin, about the size of a quarter, is simply the Salem MA official town seal...nothing more or less. It says "sterling" on the back. The town seal was not adopted until 1836 so the pin is obviously from some time after that. It was quite deep in an old field and looks pretty old, so I don't think it was a recent drop. That said, you could probably go to Salem and find something similar in a store I would guess. With dirt still on it in the hole it looked just like the 1751 One Reale Pistareen that I found last year. Oh well...maybe next time! Still happy to have it though.

Hey Mr.Digger great trime :perfect10: huge congrats to you , that coin is not only a milestone find for every hobbyist but very sought after :clapping:. you found some pretty old buttons and the two prong fork is an oldie , the silver spoon has a maker's name can you post a nice close up ?? i suspect its an early coin silver type . great hunt !!
 
That trime is in perfect shape! I'm still crotal-less on the year. Is there a number on top of that bell? Nice bunch of saves!!:notworthy:
 
That field was loaded with keepers. Huge congrats on that trime, looks to be in great shape. Another coin on my bucket list.

Those things are TINY TINY TINY. And thin as paper. GREAT find - and the rest too!!! :congrats:

Thanks Drew. I haven't really cleaned the bell too much yet. I guess sometimes you can find a number or even a maker's mark. I guess I'll have to clean it up a bit and see what might be there. It's only the second one I have found and the first with that distinctive design on it.
