Sunday morning hunt...

Got out for a full hunt this morning after the rain ended. Spent about 4 hours digging lots of targets this morning.

A couple of IH's, lots of wheats, a pendant from McCormick Line Steamers, a 'Good for 5¢' token, two Buffalo nickels, two Mercs and a Barber. :happydance01:

The almost worn down Buffalo came out of the ground just like you see it. I wonder why it didn't tarnish like all other old nickels that are dug. I could barely tell it was a Buffalo at all.

Definitely a fun morning of digging. The Barber is 1901... so close to finally breaking into the 1800's with silver.

Nice token, and fob, and Indians and... ahhh it's all nice lol That Buffalo was melted somehow and probably why it never tarnished. Almost looks like someone put a torch to it. Great soil you have there

What did you use to clean the indians?

I poured some hydrogen peroxide in a bowl and put in the microwave until it boiled. Then placed the IH's in and soak for a couple of minutes. I took them out and lightly scrubbed with a toothbrush and running water. Then I let them soak in olive oil for about an hour and ran them under hot water to get the excess oil off. Probably not a good idea for key date coins but it sure cleaned these up nice for admiring.

... That makes sense. Thanks!
