Hi, I really thought the third digit was a 7 before I wiped the dirt off of the indian head. Now I can't see it at all.
Oh well, couple hours and some nice digs. I don't know what that stopper/top thing is with the "M" on it. I thought the knob was a copper as usual. Happy rest of the weekend!

the "M" item looks like an old wooden keg tap key , congrats on the shoe buckle and "possible" 77 indian :crossfingers:

i found one similar and mine turned out to be a valve for a gas light or applianceView attachment 35190

Nice stuff, I think you may be right about the 77. I am almost ready to give up on cleaning Indians that are super crusty it seems as though they just get worse, sometimes just washing them with a little soap and water takes something away from them.

Hope it's a 77 Drew. I tried to see if the shape of the last 7 was only used that year, but it was not. I'm thinking if you could find a site that gives you pictures of what a real 77 looks like, it may confirm your hopes. Sometimes there are certain areas of the coin (like position of the last 7) that may verify it for you. Exciting to say the least :lol:

Thank you everyone for comments...sfox54, That's it :lol: I guess the Pennsylvania Dutch used the swastika in a lot of decorating before the nazis corrupted the logo. I wonder if yours was for birch beer? Makes sense as you are in PA.
