5TH COPPER & NY EXCELSIOR BUTTON!!!!!!!!!!

went on a short hunt with Forino yesterday afternoon.dug a 1890 IH,a suspender buckle & a sterling horse pendent.
fast forward to today.5:30 am and bitterly cold :frozen: couldn't feel my fingertips for most of the morning.
stopped at a cellar hole and random one we spotted alongside the rd.got a 1818 matron head large cent,a designed pewter button and low & behold...i finally got my 1st NY Excelsior button! been wanting to dig one of these for awhile! 5 mins after i dug the NY my spectrum crapped the bed :hairpulling: i hear a slight buzzing sound no display won't sound off over a target.i just got this back from a white's dealer too.they overhauled it now this :bangshead02:

Oh and here are my cleaned up finds for the day....the 2 piece gilted button came out shiny! :grin: and the large Colonial Flat button has some of the coolest design I've seen....no coins, but Im still happy.

big congrats on the militia button Dave eace: eace: i know how bad you've wanted to find one :yes: whats the backmark read :huh: and is there alot of gilt left on the front under the dirt:huh: great day you had with the exception of your dinosaur dying on you what you gonna do now , its prime detecting time :dontknow: :dontknow:

yeah it was nipply to say the least!
i used some CLR on the button with a toothbrush.looks better now.
back mark reads RICH COLOUR under shank.not sure what it says above shank? maybe you can give me some insight on makers mark above shank? in your book?
i still got my silver eagle and spectrum XLT.gonna call centerville electronics monday and ask them whats up? $220 to overhaul it and 6-7 hunts in its dead? somethings not right :eyebrow:

The button and LC are my favorites.
It was cold this morning here too. I hadn't had a good target for about 25 minutes at one point this morning, when I finally put my detector down to dig... I quickly noticed how numb my fingers had gotten. lol
