Been out digging while the ground is soft.

Tuesday and Wednesday we spent time in a picnic grove that goes back over 200 years. Lots of clamshells and other signs that the area was popular in a bygone, slower paced era. A total of 10 coppers invl 5 Connecticut coppers. Credit for the Muttonhead variety goes to my stepson, Casey. The cool thing is that on Tuesday each of the three of us had big CT coppers. Like many I can get a little frustrated trying to locate a place that hasn't been buried under by new development. The other issue is what caoppers from farm fields look like after generations of fertilizers have been used. These look better. Got to where we were digging peeps instead of beeps in the hopes of another keeper. I have more pics of recently dug keepers but the OLD stuff gets my juices going.

More detecting than posting.....I don't blame you. Some very nice finds. That is one heck of huge chain and medallion.

Hope all is well with your health and maybe we can get in a hunt together this year.

Nice old buttons you found, there is some real history there thumbsup01. Oldies are awesome to find, but with fertilizer in the fields and salt used on the streets, sometimes the oldies get eaten up before we can get them here in wisconsin. HH

Ah, you've been holding out on us!

What an amazing bunch of finds! If I ever found a Fugio Cent I would be on cloud nine for a month! And you even found 2 CT coppers and some large cents to go with it! Terrific old buttons and a spectacular gold chain and medallion!

I really like the 1939 New York World's Fair medallion too!
