Buttons found in the past few weeks

Found these buttons on one of my hunts a couple weeks ago. Don't know what they are. The larger button with cross is the size of a half dollar. Was thinking of donating them to the towns Historical Society Museum.

hey John the one on the right is a Cavalry button , not sure on the size though .cuff or coat form the size comparison ( is that a quarter or dime ) . it looks civil war era to me but the backmark is a bit obscure to tell. the other looks like a turn of the century (1900's) type button with the rusty steel backs that were common back then.its possible it was associated with religeous garb or clothing :dontknow:

Sorry, that is a quarter reference. I wanted to make a small card with the attributes for each item before I donated them. What it is, where found, date period, value, etc.
