Cellar Holes were good to me today*3 copper day plus a Dagger Hilt!

Dave and I hit two cellar holes today that we had never hunted before. The first hole was tuff to find and we actually walked right by it and only found it after back tracking about 30 mins later lol.
The first copper I got here was right near the entrance and turned up as a 179? Draped bust and the second copper was actually on the edge of the lip hanging into the cellar hole. I was only able to hear it because i was standing inside the hole while swinging over the inner walls. Unfortunately, it is to smooth to ID. Then came a very interesting and unique find. I couldn't believe it but I got a Dagger or sword Hilt. It is smaller so I believe it is the hilt of a dagger...one of the coolest finds ever for me

A few hours later we decided to move on to another site. We only spent an hour there but I did manage to get my 1st Massachusetts Copper. It is a 1788 Cent that is a bit toasty but very easy to read. I think you missed this copper Dan :poke:

Dan what do you ,make of the sword hilt? i thought for sure you'd speculate on that piece

Well thats what I call a productive hunt! Any chance on date on that Draped Bust? Sometimes you can figure date by other features on it, do you have Sheldon's Penny Whimsy book? Nice Coppers and Relics...wow would love to hit a place like that!

Great bunch of coins and relics, Todd! |:cheering:

I love those old coppers! So much history there. If I ever found a draped bust large cent I would keel over.

And that dagger hilt! :wow:

thanks Tony. Of all the coppers I dig, the Draped Bust is by far, the most common for me.

Awesome digs there Thiltzy :wow: That MA cent is very cool...I am still looking for one and I live in MA! That hilt is too cool. Great hunt! :congrats:

Thanks for leaving the Mass coin age behind :teasing: I was sorry to hear that you decided to work, it would have been nice if you were invovled. Hopefully next time
