CELLAR HOLES WITH TODD

Got out with Todd and hit 2 cellar holes.tons of big iron but managed to sneak some stuff out.
3 crotal bells,a diamond shaped pocket watch winder,a few buttons.one is a large colonial designed dandy button & the other I think is a colonial cut out button? a lead poker chip,a nice strap hinge,a different type of suspender buckle pat date 1870 and a nice 1880's strap side whiskey bottle.the gnats were horendous! 40 % deet deep woods off and they laugh at it.i'm calling OFF to give them a piece of my mind! :bop:

after looking at the cut out button.it appears to be stamped brass i would guess this dates it more into the mid to later 1800's?

Nice items, like the bottle...but it says full pint...looked pretty empty to me..next time rub some of that stuff on you and maybe the skeeters will get too tipsy to bite :cheesysmile:

A word of advice to all about bugs. Get a G.I. headnet for the brutal bug attacks and I always used 100% deet repellant recently. A few drops on your hat brim will create a curtain of vapors/odor to keep 'em away. AllI ever used trout fishing in the N.E. woods/swamps,brutal....

Dave, nice hunting. Getting the 3 crotal bells is great but the diamond wathc winder is fantastic.
