Chauffeur's Badge - - Bronze bust of Grant//UPDATED

I thought about posting this in the relics section but I didn't think of these items as relics. Besides I was actually coinhunting. I went to a park that the sign says was established in 1935. Well the first find was a Chauffeurs Badge from Mass. I found one on Ebay and that seller had his listed as 1909. Looks like the same thing. I have seen them posted but I never thought I would get one.

This second item is a bronze bust of Grant. Measures 3 tall and roughly 3 at the base. On the base is the word GRANT. On the back of it it says AMES SD. CO. CHICOPEE, MASS. This is the same Ames co that made the swords. I know that they made bronze cannons and some big statues, one being in Indiana of U.S. Grant on a horse(I think Indiana). I have tried to look this up on the internet but I could not find a thing. If anybody knows anything about this item please respond.

I also managed to get 5 wheats.

Thanks for reading.

After spending alot of time on the internet I beleive that the bust of Grant is a paperweight. A antique shop in St. Petersburg Fl had one and they listed it as RARE. I couldn't get a price off of the website though.

Thanks everybody for the replys. I finally found one that sold in 2006 for $300.00. The only difference being is the one that sold was made out of steel and not bronze, so I'ms guessing that the bronze one would be worth more. Same dimensions, same markings.

I have been waiting for years to get my coil over a chauffeurs badge. I have seen people find them around me, too.

A big metal Yankee might be a taller order.

Great finds Al The bust is different. What kind of metal do you think its made of.

It's not magnetic so I'm thinking bronze. It has a really nice blue/green patina, like statues that have been out inn the elements.
