civil war cavalry button

got out with Todd Hiltz saturday to a trashy cellar hole.was able to pluck out a nice Civil War (Scovill's Back Mark) Cavalry button though.dig holes all over this site when we arrived.a sense of satisfaction knowing you found a piece of history someone else missed :thumbsup01:

Nice Cav Button Dave! From what I understand (from the Official regulations) only Officers were issued buttons with the branch of service, while the enlisted just got the General Service ones.

Was this a new place to you, or just somewhere that is like a back-up and close to hit anytime? Just curious due to your write up. Since the dig holes and the fact you scored a few items.
