Cool finds - Unusual assortment

I recently hunted several places and came up with an unusual assortment of items. While hunting a beach I came up with half a pipe bowl from an old clay pipe and a 1909 VDB cent. Tried a spot in the woods that I've pounded and still came up with an old button. The back reads London Double Quality and has a crown. I'd appreciate any info anyone has on this. Last hunt was at a spot that has now produced 65 coppers. I picked up a toasted Draped Bust large cent and a fairly nice 1915 Barber Quarter.

Wow Don that barber is a looker :loveit: the button is obviously a British import and I would guess its age is anywhere from just prior to 1812 to about 1825 . I can get over how shiny the lincoln is . congrats on some fine keepers .

Don, the question on the buttons with Crowns, Eagles, Prince of Wales symbols has come up quite often over the years, my best answer to them is from Tice's Dating Buttons book, page 44....... I have quite a few with crowns, Mason and Sons seems to have been the most common backmark I have found of the crown type.

Some nice finds there Don...old wheats don't usually come out of the ground like that :envious: That quarter is amazing! What do you do to clean your silver? Anything?

Actually that 1909 VDB came off the beach of all places. I don't usually hunt the beach, but after the windy weekend we just had I thought I'd give it a try and hopefully come up with some gold. No gold, but the VDB and an old clay pipe bowl that was right on the surface.
