Fun find

Mike and I got out for a little hunt late this morning. Had an awesome 11-47 at 8 and dug out this silver womans wedding ring. While looking for an inscription I saw it was a coin ring. It looks like a 1950 dated quarter. I googled coin rings and found out that during WW1 and WW2 soldiers made these to give to their sweethearts when they returned home. This one is obviously newer but still a cool find and a first for me. |:cheering:
In the same hour we also obtained permission to detect an 1880s house with a LARGE property. The owner said he detected it 20 years ago and only found 1 silver quarter and a lead soldier. We made plans to detect it next weekend. Have a great weekend! :groovy:

Great dig on this beauty.

Very nice find. I remember my dad having one of those he made while in the navy. He was a machinist. I can remember him saying that the guys would use a spoon to tap the coin. This would take a very long time to happer out a ring but it gave them something to do. Congrats on the find.

Very cool find. I'm part of that Never Found club. We used to make them in high school. But in years of searching the old school grounds, I'v yet to find one. As you can tell, you have an extremely special find.
