December 6, 2015 – A friend of mine bought a house that was in foreclosure to flip it so of course I asked if I could detect the lawn. The house was built in 1854, sits on a village street and still has its old barn in the backyard. I also vaguely remember many years ago as a kid my father detecting this yard looking for a lost piece of jewelry I believe. The house once belonged to a relative at one time. Anyways, I stopped in early Sunday morning and started in the backyard. Lots of iron, most likely nails as the 3030 sounded like a machine gun of grunts on every swing. Dug some clad, some junk, 7 wheaties, 3 silver dimes (seated, barber & merc) and a small silver ring. I’ll probably head back there this weekend if this weather holds up.
