My display drawing

I got the urge to do something artistic and make myself a centerpiece for a coin display... My hope is to sketch each of the coin types and place them in the center of a frame with the coins going around it. Here's my start to my Mercury Dime drawing. It's really neat to really pay attention the the details that go into our coins... They are just beautiful!!!

very nicely done Brian , :clapping: :clapping: it is amazing at how much detail goes into those old coins and they sure are beautiful . i guess thats why they have so much appeal.

Great eye Brian :shocked04: Don't forget to make me them 1877 Indian Head Penny dies lol That display is gonna look awesome :happydance01: Great job.

After seeing it like this...it would make a neat looking tattoo I guess!

Yep, get it on your arm and everyone will ask who is that babe with the funky hat? lol Maybe you had a previous life designing tatoo flash. :thinkingabout:

I must have been rich in my former life...because I'm broke in this one! When I was 18, I was offered to be an understudy for an old artist in our area that made large murals of swiss and amish countrysides. At the time, all I wanted was my girlfriend... fool am I! He died a couple years later, but his artwork is worth a loot! I have done many drawings and several paintings. Somewher there are 27 different paintings out there with my name on them... given to ex-girlfriends, friends and family members. Maybe I'll find one of mine at a garage sale someday!

Put another hour into it tonight and got the lettering on it. Now I have to finish the outside rim.

That looks fantastic! You might be on to something that coin collectors would buy from you. I am a stamp collector and there is an artist that does wood carvings of all the old engraved stamps. He sets up at all the big national shows in Chicago, NY, etc and sells them for several thousand dollars each.

On the sketch paper I'm using I have the second circle made to the right of it and I will have the reverse beside it.. with a D of course...

Let me know when you get both pieces done. E mail me them and I'll see what I can do in Mahogany. I won't be carving it by hand though lol I'm too lazy

That's beautiful Beef! That side of my brain just does not work that well. I didn't realize you were a talented artist. Very nice indeed. Thanks for sharing with us.
