This is what I was talking about. I can see the cap which you were referring to and I circled it. There just happens to be only one line on the bottom of the bust for the post. Nothing creates a 'V' shape. And nothing with a similar back like the matron has a 'V' shape on the obverse to rule out other possibilities. I wonder if it was like an over strike or die crack.
