New to forum. From SE Wisconsin. Found this site via Firefighter 43's you tube videos (great job by the way). I enjoyed this hobby when I was 12-14 years old. Now 30 years later picking it up again (Since October). Mostly been researching, but have gone out a few times. Only 1 silver Roosevelt for about 15 hours of detecting. Still learning the Garrett AT Pro. 2 Horseshoes, bullets, shotgun shells, old (i think) saddle buckle. Has two sharpened points and has Pat. 1869 on it. Looking forward to reading and writing about experiences.

Cool....another Northerner from the Great Lakes Region. Welcome, interested to see how you like your ATPro. I'm new as well, and have just purchased one.

When I saw the name I figured you had to be from WI. Welcome to the forum and back to the hobby. Thank you for watching my videos and subscribing. I hope you are taking advantage of this nice weather we are having, I know I have been trying. Good luck with your research this winter.

Thank you for the welcoming.

MI Detector - I do like the AT Pro. I definitely like the 5 x 8 coil for parks and areas with trash. Part of the reason I went with Garrett was that my dad still uses a Garrett from 1980 and does quite well. He isn't very active MDing, but my enthusiasm is getting him back into it as well.

Firefighter - I have been taking advantage. Been a great end of the year weather pattern we are in.

Welcome from western MA. Our Midwest group is growing......great. Looking forward to seeing your finds. Hope your dad can get back into it as well.

Welcome to the forum! As you can see, we have a lot of people here from SE Wisconsin so you are in good company. Looking forward to seeing some photos of your finds. Good Luck, and happy hunting! Can't beat this winter weather so far, so take advantage of it while you can.

Thanks Digger. Just went out today, probably last day of year for me. 62 cents in clad and cleaned up the ground of bottle caps and pull tabs. Got a heavy iron piece that I am not sure what it is. I think it might be a stable door hinge. Need to clean it up better.

It took me much more than 15 hrs to find any silver! You are on the right track!...or I was on the wrong one  Welcome!

Welcome to the forum Badgers325. You've got some good company and quality detectorists in your neck of the woods. Looking forward to reading your posts.

John
