Today i went back to that small park that i found the two mercs at a week or so ago. I didn't think this park looked all that good for detecting and don't know how old the park is. But i figured if it had mercs it should have other 40's-50's and 60's coins in it somewhere. So i started at the point that i left off last time, lining myself up with a stump across the park where i had finished. A few pennies and dimes to start off then a nice high pitched signal with plenty of depth and good high numbers. And out pops a walker!! A little later i get another great signal, another walker! I'm on cloud nine now. And all i can think is should i stay for more or get home and clean them up because i'm all excited. Well, i decided to stay a bit longer and i'm glad i did. I got yet another signal like the others and i'm thinking no way but it was YES way. A third walker and right next to it a silver rosie. I was hoping to have a good silver day at some point in my detecting years but till today my best total silver for one hunt was two dimes and a small sterling ring in one hunt.
Today is my record, four silvers in one hunt. And i only found one walker before this. Man, what a great day at what i at first thought was a lost cause of a park. I guess every other detectorist thought the same thing. Ya just never know!
